Kids are twice as likely to die from the vaccine than from COVID-19, according to CDC statistics

Some kids have asked why they should get the vaccine. The definitive answer is because old people want you to. Here’s a bit more detail.

One thing that some kids couldn’t find was the statistics showing that the vaccine is safer than the virus. So here’s what we found:

Updated COVID-19 infection fatality estimates at the US Center for Disease Control (CDC) show the chances of dying from the virus:

0-19 years: 0.003%
20-49 years: 0.02%

We also know that 187 million Americans had received at least one dose of the vaccine on 21 July and that there had been 12,313 deaths within 28 days of the vaccine recorded in CDC’s VAERS on this date. Sure, these aren’t all directly related to the vaccine, just as not everyone who dies within 28 days of a positive COVID test died of COVID. But we seem to be using the same methodology.

This gives us 12,313/187 = 66 per million, or 0.0066%. Compared to the chances of dying for 0-19 year olds of 0.003%,

The vaccine is more than twice as likely to kill kids than the virus.

This is probably conservative because it assumes vaccine related deaths are uniform across all ages. However vaccine related deaths seem to be more prevalent in the young than the old, so the actual fatality rate for this age group could be double or more.

There are also the serious short term side effects to consider, which are around 267 per million. There’s no data on long term side effects and, if big pharma gets its way, there never will be. Heck, the number of reported deaths may suddenly halve a second time!

Note for fact checkers: of the 362 million doses of the vaccine administered, statistically 2% of the people would die within 12 months, or 0.15% within 28 days, which would be 555,397. So this would be the real number on VAERS if doctors reported deaths there like they were required to report covid deaths. Hmm… one suspects that doctors are only reporting deaths they think are related to the vaccine.
