Fact check finds two thirds America’s military suffering from neurological issues

In a shocking revelation, military doctors announced they had discovered a 1,000% increase in neurological issues in the military from 82,000 to 863,000. Naturally, PolitiFact pounced on this immediately and debunked it because the earlier data was underreported. According to the fact check, the 2021 number of 863,000 was correct.

For comparison, the entire US military comprises 1,346,400 active personnel. So 64.1% of the US military is suffering from neurological disorders. Or enjoying them — let’s not jump to conclusions.

For comparison, around a quarter of Americans are living with diagnosable mental disorders, according to John Hopkins Medical Center. This agrees with my own experience — at least a quarter of Americans I’ve met were either crazy or end-of-the-spectrum weird.

In some ways, the finding that two thirds of America’s service personnel are crazy isn’t a huge surprise. These are people who, on the job application form, checked the box that said, “I understand that this job may entail having my limbs ripped off and entrails disgorged in a remote desert and I don’t have a problem with that.”

On the other hand, these are the men, women, and non-binary servicepeople that we depend on to defend what’s left of the free world.

It is safe having all of these crazies with fingers on triggers? Possibly. As long as the leader remains perfectly sane.
